Origin
of the Whitlock Family Association
The Whitlock Family Association has grown out of the contacts we have made since beginning this research in 1968. It is a loose association of all Whitlocks, Whitelocks or their descendants who have expressed an interest in knowing more about their ancestors. There are no membership fees but a subscription is charged for those wishing to receive the quarterly Whitlock Family Newsletter.
Aims
of the Association
To collect and preserve as much information on the Whitlock and Whitelock families and their descendants as possible.
To catalogue and cross-reference each piece of information submitted to the files to ensure the origin is always known.
To share all material provided as inexpensively and widely as possible to both assist in further research and prevent duplication.
To publish a quarterly newsletter including articles and detailed accounts of all material submitted for cataloguing. Also including Main Lines of subscribers and copies of index files.
To finance the above by charging a subscription for the newsletter and requesting an air mail stamp (from any country) for every four pages of material requested.
To encourage as many as possible to take an interest in their family and contact others researching the same line. Also to encourage as much sharing of research as possible.
To computerize as a method of making information available to anyone interested. This includes both family charts and indexes. Note: (PAF) means data is in the Personal Ancestral File program and is available in GEDCOM format. It is our aim to eventually have all charts in this type of format.
